How to level limestone/gravel floor indoors

How would crushed concrete work for an application like this? The price is good.

Never thought of it. How long until it would just be dirt again? Seems messy. Is there an advantage to mulch?

Mulch might be a tad too critter friendly as it will hold burrow walls once packed. If it wasn't put down too deep/thick, it would probably be okay.

Other than a door the right size, why won't your tractor fit? Looking at the picture the barn appears big enough. Seems like a bigger door or doors would be easier to tackle than spreading gravel by hand. That way you can get the FEL in there to at least dump the gravel inside instead of all the wheel barrow work. The vertical posts could be relocated or eliminated with some basic carpentry work. Two new hinged doors and you can park the tractor in there if you want. Just my .02 worth.

Rafters inside are too low for the ROPS even folded. It's smaller than it appears in the photo. I just want to use it for a garden shed. Already park the tractor in a shed, so no worries there.

For a good gravel floor, I'd use the limestone crusher run as suggested. You can water it and tamp it into a pretty even surface,too. To make sure you get the grade(level and slope you're wanting, drive some stakes every 5' along the perimeter,and stretch a tight mason's line or tough nylon string,criss-crossing across the floor AFTER you decide what level you want.Make te height of the strings four inches above your final grade,which lets you get a garden rake or concrete placer(not the ones with the wire hooks) tool through underneath them and gives you a good eyeball reference for leveling. Keep your wheel-barrow handles low while rolling and you can roll right over the lines without hooking them.
ANYWAY....that's how we grade tight spaces for prepping for a concrete pour. don-ohio ^)

Yeah it's 5 feet. I'm 6 feet and have to duck down to enter. That's why I want to remove the fence from the opening and just use that. I have thought about framing in a bigger door, but just decided to go this route and preserve the character of the barn.

What about raising it up? Put a stone foundation under it and make it more useable?
