Raccoons will gorge themselves on dead turtle. Perhaps you can establish a coalition of the willing in your eradication process.

Ha-ha, now if only the turtle(s) would cooperate. Raccoons are such scavengers. They will not attack a live snapper, I don't think. They (the coons) don't much bother the turtles in the pond, but I don't want the raccoons around either. They are almost as much of a problem as the turtles. Amazing that these 3 adult turtles that I caught survived last winter (and probably many others) over a completely-frozen pond for 3+ months by digging under.
