How to get out of mud

I had a friend who was a construction engineer in Viet Nam. Every once in a while a tank would get stuck in mud that formed a vacuum with the flat bottoms. If the tank recovery vehicles could not pull them out the engineers moved in. They took a chunk of C4 and pushed it under the tank. Had the driver rev it up and then set it off. The C4 would pop the tank up and break the mud suction allowing them to drive out. Dont try this with your tractor. :laughing:

Unless you first installed an extra thick skid plate or using someone else's tractor.......

At what point do you want me to REV IT? Maybe install an altimeter and judge by that.

Just make sure when you do, hit it HARD and don't back off! There's nothing worse than getting somebody ALMOST out, and they let off the throttle.

Oh yeah, I suggest that you try it on a borrowed tractor.

Don't you just love that? Especially if you are pushing by hand. I will never forget some city kids on a local beach stuck. Told the driver he had to rock it, at which point he got out, put his hands on the roof and shook the car from side to side. I swear, I can't make something like that up.

Few years back came upon middle age couple out state with MD on plate on fancy BMW $$$ leaf peepers park beside the road,I stop and ask if they were okay man said the tire was half flat and it would least an hour before AAA could get there,I took look the tire was completely flat I told him but he said" the top wasn't flat so it's have half flat,I decided it would be better if AAA handle this issue.

Years ago a crop inspector was driving his BMW around the country side checking crops for a crop insurance company that he was working for. His tire went flat and he didn't know how to change it. My friends 14 year old daughter showed him how.
