How To Find Metal Cutting Services?

My next project is going to be building a front snow blade for my Bota. I will need some brackets cut so they are nice and pretty, but am having trouble finding anyone around here that can do this. I can draw everything up for them in either Visio or Sketchup, and the pieces will be fairly small and UPSable. Does anyone know of an online source of this service or someone I could work with via e-mail or phone?

a while back i saw someone on ebay doing this, and they're still there:

there's also a section on the cnczone forums for requesting quotes for jobs like this, but the ebay price of $0.93/lb isn't too bad. in my area, it's around $0.75/lb for bulk steel. that price varies some for adding holes it seems, but it wouldn't hurt to find out what it would cost. it is also dependent on you providing a dxf file. if you can't export a dxf, i can probably make you one for free. let me know if you want any help with this.

Looks like visio will export in DXF or DGW. These will be simple 2 dimensional plates, so I don't think I will need anything too complicated.

I do a few odd jobs with my home shop machine, it is a PlasmaCam cnc with a Hypertherm Powermax45 plasma......does an excellent job on materials up to 1/2". Here are a few pics of projects done with this....and if the parts are small usps shipping from NH to WV will be $10 or less. If you send a drawing or sketch with dimensions...I will quote the parts...be sure to indicate material and thickness. I will have to redraw in AutoCad (.dxf) format, but I don't charge anything for that. If you are interested PM me your email, and I will contact you.

Have you tried a local welding shop. I am just in a small town and there are
at least two local welding shops that can do fabrication work also. And they
do good work. They will also get material at a fair price.

I called around 3 counties. Closest anyone knew of was Morgantown or Pittsburgh, 2-3 hours away. The local shops can do hand cuts with plasma and the like, but nothing CNC.

WOW fancy cuttin i dont have any fancy cnc stuff just a couple of good old lathes and a couple mills with them i can make almost anything

Do a Google search for Rapid Sheet Metal. They are a fab shop in S NH. I use them a lot, they do good work.
