I know that the JD 7 backhoe fits, but they don't make it anymore. Are there any newer model backhoes that will fit? This fitment stuff is difficult to find info on. TY in advance.

Your best source is probably going to be old posts here or hopefully old owners. But you are right to expect that subframes can be different for different models. That is why the 3pt mount BH became popular in spite of their many problems and danger - particularly on small tractors.
I beiieve you are wise to only consider subframe mounted hoes even if you have to pay to have the subframe altered.
As for comparing subframes compatibility from one model to the next, I'm not sure that crossover charts even exist. Again, an article where someone has done it is your best bet.

Another thing to consider is that the basic add-on hoes commonly used tractor hydraulics - but most could also be ordered equipped with an optional slide-on PTO driven pump having a fluid storage tank on the BH frame ...usually under the seat.
That PTO driven pump option is just as easy to mount as one using tractor hydraulics and works far better.
We've had both.

Just mounted a #7 backhoe I recently purchased, curious if someone has had the older style, wondering how much better newer hoes are, hydraulic power wise, I was going to add a thumb, but side power seems low. Any comparisons would be great.

More. I looked at the photo in the adv. To my eye that one looks a little beat. If I were selling it - and it were as clean as he claims then I'd have washed it and assembled so a buyer can see all the parts fitting together. Make sure everything is there and condition.
Price seems high for the presentation. Maybe I'm just out of touch with the times.... maybe....
