I am not able to maintain my tractor as well as I should because I keep it in my neighbors barn and I do not wash it down after each use. This past month I had a mouse build a nest on top of the radiator. I did not remove all of the panels around the controls but did open it up to look for a nest or activity like chewing. One person said put laundry sheets on the tractor that will deter them. Is there any truth to this or a better product?

Thank you.

Mike....I have to leave my tractor at my farm in the pasture for a day or so at times when I am bush hogging...I tried the dryer sheets...but what worked for me is placing the sticky sheets down on the flat surfaces that mice would step on ...on their way to chewing wires...you can buy them at Walmart, home depot etc...they are flat sheets of really sticky paper...any mice that touch it will be there for you to dispatch..Mean but effective.

Moth balls work, but dryer sheets smell better:laughing: Put moth balls on the ground around the tires. You could put some in a small cloth bag and hang from the grill near radiator. Also put 2 moth balls in a bag and hang from the draw bar:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I use bounce fabric softener sheets and they do make a difference. I place them in each tool box and in cabinets in the garage and a few under the hood of the tractor.

Repellants with spearmint and/or peppermint oil seem to work for me.

I put a tarp over my tractor to keep the weather off the seats, operator controls and dash. Mice really like the covered area under the tractor as well as the old duck boat (all under sheds with no sides)

I use these and it seems to work. Use them in camper at hunting camp also.

I have 4 cats that live in the Machine shed. Before they "moved in" I had problems, but since they befriended me - no mouse problems

No what he is talking about is actural sticky mouse traps. They are just a flat tray with really sticky gooy stuff in them. When a mouse steps in one its all over, they arn't going anywhere and whey they stick in another foot to try and get out that one is stuck also, I have had several mice stacked on top of each other and stuck together its kind of well gross. They work well but I think I would try and anchor it down if you use one if that stuff gets on your tractor your gonna have a mess heck you may get on and never get off either!

Moth balls work for me. I just open the box and set it around the clutch pedal. There is a small tray under the dash and I put a handful in there. They had got in behind the dash and the urine smell was hard to take.:confused2:
