How serious is a pump leak?

Hey all,
How serious a problem is a minor leak coming from the bottom of the forward pump on my new Challenger(Iseki) MT265, I think this is the FEL circuit pump. Obviously this is a warrantee issue, but I thought I would ask what others experiences are. Anybody had similar leak-points/experinces? I called the dealer today, and they had a rep on my place within hours. Said he hadn't seen this problem yet on any of the new Challengers/AGCO, but since I told him that I was not in a hurry to use it today, He said he would have answers and a fix by tomorrow. Thanks,

Pressure side leaks: Obviously.. you have a loss of oil. if it is a drip.. I'd watch it till the warranty repair/parts come thru.

Suction side leak: Can cause loss of prime.. or pump cavitation.. which destroys pump... I'd park it and not run it.. as the pump is probably live from the engine.. and running/pumping thru an open center system even if you are not using the fel controlls.

just my opinion.. etc...YMMV

Uh, I think its the pressure side of the pump(forward half). I just spoke with the service manager, and told him all about it. He said that he suspected a faulty silicon seal on the pump mating surface, and that if it was just a slow drip, that he wouldn't worry about using it for the small project that I have left to do tonight. He said that one of the service vans would be on my place first thing in the morning to get it fixed. I guess I'll be watchin' this pretty closely. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
