How noisy is your kubota snowblower?

Well I got the chain fixed. Worked her for about 15minutes last night. Man does this thing throw snow.

Anyway - it seems kind of noisy. Kind of makes a Wuhwuhwuh sound. Just wondering if it's normal. Wife said it sounded "sick".

My 3pt blower was very quite except for the air moving. Of course, it was direct drive vs. the chain on the B2782.

I have a front blower on my L3010HST and I wouldn't exactly call the blower quiet but it doesn't sound sick either. I think definitely sounds mechanical and a little "clanky" when it isn't blowing snow. It seems to be smoother when I'm actually blowing snow.

It isn't clanky. Just the wuhwuh sound. As far as loudness - a bit quiter than the MMM is.

Hazmat,

I had the same complaint with my BX2750. The first time I used it I called the dealer and told them something was wrong because my blower was howling. They said that is the sound it is supposed to make. I think they were right. Everything turned smoothly and without binding. And after three or four years of use it worked (and sounded) just like it did when new.

Mine seems pretty quiet, but I am in a cab. It is much quieter than my old one.

How noisy is it if you open the door to the cab? I know you're risking frostbite & getting you hot chocolate cold and all...

You're right, it is quite a bit louder outside, so another advantage of the cab - quieter.

Sounds like the chain is too tight. When the blower is spinning the only thing that's going slow enough to make a wuhwuhwuh sound is the chain drive and auger. With the unit lifted up and pto disconnected, roll the auger by hand and check that the chain and sprockets are in good shape and the chain fits and is not too tight. A little play at the idler is better than none. Also check that the auger bearings are smooth rolling. If there is are broken or missing rollers, it will make a wuhwuhwuh noise and once in while rollers might get wedged and try to stop the auger, snapping the chain. I don't think the wuhwuhwuh is normal - it's telling you something is unhappy and may not put up with it forever. As always, prompt cheerful refund if info is bogus. Dick B
