I’m getting a 5065E and MX7 for business use. I want to also do some bush hogging for extra income.

I see some people advertising cheap prices in my opinion. Most people get around $125/ hr for skid steer work in my area. With a 4hr min.

I was thinking about the same would be fair. $100-$125 an hour.

I was thinking a 4hr min if I have to travel with trailer.

I should be able to do 3-4 acres an hour I believe in pasture ground.

I get $125 an hour and 150 for trucking if more than 10 miles from home. I have a waiver they must sign that holds me not responsible if broken windows or anything else and if I find a hidden obstacle and cause damage to my equipment they are responsible for repairs. First time i found a t post with a tire the money I spent to have the waiver drafted by my lawyer paid for it. I get 3-4 jobs a month which is enough for me to do on the side after work and weekends

You can drive a skid steer off in a jungle. Can't do that on a tractor. Ain't no way a tractor can hang with a skid steer. You might cut a pasture but that's not 125.00 an HR work, no where near it.

To many uninsured weekend warriors doing it for $50 an hour or less.

Not worth the time or headache.

A skid steer and a tractor are about the same price. At least for the one I’m getting. I talked to a guy that does it full time. He has multiple employees. He said $125 for that size of tractor/ bush hog. People are too cheap. $125 an hour is not getting rich. People underestimate over head with machinery. I see people do it in construction all the time. They will undercut because they think it’s too expensive and be out of business a year later. If you pay someone $20 an hour after taxes and other costs that’s $30. Fuel is gonna be $10-20 an hour. Your equipment is worth at least $10 an hour probably more like $20. With maintenance, depreciation and break downs. You have to have a truck and trailer to transport. Insurance, tools, and probably more I'm forgetting.
