i was thinking about getting a bx24 with kubota fel and kubota bh. then i decided to see if it would be cheaper for me to get either a bx1850 or a bx2350, with kubota fel and a woods backhoe (because kubota does not have a backhoe for these machines). also, if i were to go with a bx2350 or a bx1850, how much would i save compared to a bx24 (all with a fel and bh). thanks a lot

The Woods' Back-Hoe will set you back a few dollars more. Options to consider:
Bucket size, PTO pump set-up and sub-frame mount if available for the machine that you chose;(and the tractor will love you for it). General rule for Back-Hoe,
Small unit -- Small Job's; Large unit -- Big job's.

Talk with your dealer and give him your idea's / needs. Buying the whole package in the beginning is the smartest and most economical way to go.

Depending on the dealer, the Woods BH6000 cost ranges from $5k to $8k. The price difference between a BX2350 and a BX24 ranges from $3500 to $4k.

The Woods unit is practical for those who already own a partially depreciated BX 1500, 1800, 1830, 1850, 2200, 2230, 2350 model. If you know that you want to have a backhoe and have not yet purchased, the most economical scenario is to buy a BX24. Additionally, there are a number of small advantages that the BX24 has contrasted with a BX with a Woods bh.

I recently paid $5,500 installed. I concur with others' posts as the BH6000 is a wonderful device and I will put it beside Kubota's model any day, but it is simply more economical to get the BX24 out of the box.

Reasons I did not get it initially was initial cost as I was getting a deck and bagger at the time and my wife had an upper limit on budget at the time. Also, at the time I bought it was the BX23, not the BX24, and the installed BH was an "older gen" unit with a straight boom. I liked the Woods more current design better.

I actually like the smaller ROPS, too, as the BX23/24 comes with a huge folding ROPS that I'd have to remember to take down every time I go into the garage or cut near a tree.

Do it to break up the cost over time...not to save on initial investiment.
