The descriptions I've found on the Internet sure sound good; 475 ft. lbs. of torque. I've used and repaired lots of pneumatic impacts, and I've owned two 120 volt electric ones, but no personal experience with battery powered ones. However, I would expect that M18 to be a dandy tool.

We have an 18V Dewalt at work in our Maintenance shop and the guys love it. It is used for breaking bolts loose and for tightening couplings on our material lines in our plastic injection facility. I have an 18V Mastercraft (Canadian Tire brand) at home and it works great for what I use it for. I use it for rotating rims on the cars and for breaking loose rusted bolts. The Mastercraft is a cheaper brand from the Dewalt but for what I use it for, suits my needs.

I have had a Dewalt 3/8" for over a year and love it. It is compact and fits in tight areas. I use it frequently as I do mobile service, I have air on my van but sometimes I can not get equipment to it or have to work inside a building. It holds a charge great.

Just bought the Milwaukee that is in the video a few weeks ago, only put it to a real test one and it has done good. Time will tell but I need something for big jobs.

I use m28 Milwaukee tools for work and an m18 impact driver for screws and lag bolts. I've never thought of using it in the garage until recently when I was at a buddies place. He's a chief mechanic for a local small time race team. He uses a snap on battery operated impact driver. It looks pretty much the same as mine. I guess I'll give it a go next time.

My Ryobi is no way as big or powerful, but even it is sure handy for dis-assembly and really great for driving big honking deck screws.

Have an older Bosch 14.4v nicad. Use it for just about everything except head bolts and large lug nuts. Really shines on lag bolts to 1/2 in.

i have the makita as part of my 18v kit, it's rated at 450 lbs, and works great. my
compressor usage has dropped to mainly a tire pumper now!
other items in my kit are the 1/4 drive impact driver, 6 1/2" circular saw, sawzall,
1/2" hammer drill, 4 1/2" grinder and flashlight. i have been very happy with this set.

I have all the 18v Milwaukee portables. The impact works really well for most needs. Battery condition is the key ingredient. I keep a spare charger with battery in place at all times. I've had batteries rebuilt locally for 1/3 of the cost of new. I also took a battery case apart and hooked up a 12V connector for a car battery. The 12V at high current agrees with this impact pretty well.

A fresh battery has enough grunt to change 4 summer tires to snow tires in one session on one vehicle. Finish off with torque wrench.

The battery drill is also a good companion especially for screw driving. The circular saw and the sawzall have a place on the farm, too.
