Was on the way to a dealer who quoted a price on an in stock
l5460 that I was fine with except with wanting $800 (plus 9% tax) for filling the rears. Wanted to see if any wiggle room there, he hinted there was last time.
My cell rang and it was another dealer (closer to the new property) who with a little negotiation gave me a total price I could live with and I pulled the trigger on the phone.
Theirs had ag tires, but they will swap in the r4's from another tractor at no additional cost.
In the abstract I would rather have bought an l40 series due it being a known quantity and the FEL hose routing which I like much better (and mine will not have a cab). But I really need to get a lot done on the new property before the rains begin. So it is what it is and hopefully in the end it will work out well. Hoping someone comes up with a clever aftermarket skidplate to protect the 3rd function soft lines right below the tractor.
I ordered it with 3 rear remotes and the kubota 3rd function. Most likely once I am more familiar with it all I will kind of wish I waited and installed a non OEM third function myself, but for now I don't have time to come up to speed.
Dealer said about a week to get the remote parts.
I did not have to work very hard to get an acceptable price break (I do haggle but don't enjoy it) as it seems the local dealers are hungry to move l60s at least for now. Seems buyers are still avoiding them, which they can't do forever.
