How many have concealed carry permit to carry a gun ?

8 hour class here including proficiency testing, $150 permit fee plus background check fee for first issue. Renewal every 5 years for the permit fee only. My wife and I have had permits for 6 years, but we carried in our cars before that.

Use caution before crossing state lines, not every state will recognize another's permit. You can check on line or call the state police in the state you are passing through. Massachusetts is tough.

There is an app for that. It's called CCW. You enter the state(s) you hold a permit in and it shows you the states you are legal to carry in. Also shows some basic need to know carry laws for each state.

I forgot to add, there is NO "hands on" testing here, it's all just paperwork.

In New Hampshire, 10 dollar fee, good for 5 years, no qualification. NH is a "must issue" state.

I've carried concealed when legal, everywhere, everyday since 1979!

Both wife and I have Permit for Concealed Carry. Three of five children and or three spouses have permits.

State of Alabama law protects the right to OPEN CARRY without a permit. No municipality may interfere or right a law that prohibits OPEN CARRY. However, there is always a chance of a runnin' with an uneducated policemen that doesn't know that!

Approximately 12 states allow/protect OPEN CARRY. Ten more have permits for OPEN CARRY.

when i got my Utah permit, they required the 8 hour class tough my Utah certified instructors. the classes are about $50-60 and held thru lots of different venues such as gun stores.....Cabelas, etc.

You have to have a permit in the state you reside in BEFORE Utah will issue you a permit.

I have a concealed carry permit. Easy to get in our state....paperwork and finger prints only. You must renew every 5 years. Costs $52 initially and $32 to renew. You should get yours!

Hiya,

Even if your state is an open carry state, get the concealed carry. In NH, there are several regulations under the open carry statutes that can leave you open to charges that are covered with the concealed carry license. For example, if you toss a pistol into the glove box that has a loaded mag inserted but no round in the chamber and you do not have a concealed carry, you are in violation of open carry.
