How important is spelling and punctuation to you?

Somebody has got to break it to that boy- it is spelled with a "W". There is a mighty big difference between a "*****" and a "horse". He'll be mighty disappointed at 16 or 20 if he's mucking out stalls when he was dreaming of his very own "******"! That's the trouble with moms- they put the old kibosh on all the fun stuff! A boy should be encouraged to dream big and someone should sit him down and teach him to spell - maybe his dad!

So far I have learned something about "CamelCase" and Scooby and Astro.. But that is about all.

I just learned that a message

a) in a font called "Source San Pro,"
b) in a small font size, and
c) with red and blue text colors

is hard to read.:)

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Uses all the letters in the alphabet.

I remember the practice paragraph that started out, "now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country". I think it is correct, although it was 45 years ago.

I mostly breeze past and ignore minor spelling mistakes and punctuation errors if
it's still
easily readable. If the post is fairly long and it is not broken up into reasonably
sized
paragraphs, I must admit that I'll often skip past those posts. If it is something
that I'm
very interested in, I may force myself to read through, though it's painful.

What really drives me nuts is what I call seismograph posts. You know the ones,
where the
lines of sentences are all messed up. First there is a full length line of text, then
that is
followed by just a word or two, then the next line is a full line of text again, and
so on. It
is especially annoying if it is a fairly long post. I don't know what it is about this
style, but
it is definitely one that is bothersome enough to me that I nearly always have to
skip those
posts, or just sort of skim over them at best.
