Just curious as to how hot the area between your tires is after say a 1 hour mowing or brushhogging session. I have never paid much attention to it in the past but noticed today that it was too warm to hold my hand on it after mowing. It doesn't burn you to touch it, but if I think it would be painful to hold my hand there for more than 3-5 seconds. Just curious if that's normal or ?

Regards,
Dave

Yes. You can measure the temperature sometime to see exactly what it is, but about 100 degrees above the ambient temperature is normal. And that's too hot for your hands.

Mine gets hot, on the Bx there is a fan and a cooler. On my 2410 thereis only a cooler. Yeah, they both get warm. That is normal. J

I too worried over the temperature that the hydraulic fluid and drive train was operating at. My dealer checked it out and told me everything was OK, that the fluid was running 180F and it was well within specs. I was able to verify this later with an infrared temperature gun. Both were checked on 80F+ days so that is in line with Bird's assessment.

I have a valve mounted on the right fender just in front of the ROPS. Yesterday while using my tractor for several hours I leaned on the 90-degree fitting coming out the side of the valve. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
But not for long. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
As others have said, about 100-degrees above ambient temperature is normal. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
