Have you ever wondered what makes that screeching scratching sound when rotating those mechanical timers?
About 40 years ago I stopped by my mother-inlaw's house and saw that her and my 10 year old son had one of those timers all apart. On an old towel was a dozen or more tiny triangle shaped pins that are spring loaded when assembled. These are all different lengths and must go back in the original holes.
I got the **** outta there as fast as I could and do you know what ever was wrong and whatever they did fixed that thing.
