How German Farmers Protest

The Frenchmen probably would, too. :D

You kind of remind me of another member that was from the eastern shore. Maybe its the water.

Your name isn't Frank is it?

Germany is leading the world on renewables.

Even when germans try to do good things they still end up being ****'ish in their execution.

Germany has roughly 81.5 million people as of 2011. It's much easier to take a country like that and put it on "renewable" than say the some odd 300 mil we have here in the US. Not to mention basically not having any energy reserves makes it an easier switch as well. And I thought they reprocessed the nuclear material and reused it somehow?

Just in case there was ever any doubt, I was joking, thus the laughing smiley.;)

As for being "from the Eastern Shore, I'm from NC, I live in the Eastern Shore. Not sure what you're implying...poor Frank left this material world a while back, and didn't leave me a penny. But I've spent plenty of Mitzi's money over the years.

Germany is leading the world on renewables.

Indeed they are.

BUT, there still has to be some base generating capacity. Nuclear provides that clean base load generating capacity.

Now this base load will be carried by coal or other fossil fuel, but my money would be on coal because they have vast quantities of it.

Talk about organization. . . How did they get all those tractors with quick-attach loaders and nobody showed up with their FEL bucket?

Atleast Germany has got started on a different approach. I am a former gearhead that has gone pretty green. I am grid tied but I have a PV array and solar DHW. We heat entirely with wood. I am not a chicken little but sooner or later the cheap energy bubble is going to burst.

I wish the USA would take as much iniative as other countries.

I know I have opened up a can of worms....sorry

I like pictures 7 & 8 - It's too dangerous so let's derail the train?

hey,,,, nobody said they were SMART protestors ;)

I'm thinking the police were not the brightest either. "The protesters are chained to the tracks! Quick! Get a power saw and cut the tracks!" Why couldn't they just get a bolt cutter and cut the chains?:confused3: Now the railroad has to fix the tracks.:confused2:
