Well, I did my annual rain dance, that is, I went on vacation. This is normally guaranteed to fetch hurricanes, massive stationary fronts, etc, and it worked perfectly. 3.5 inches fell at home, and quite a bit on us in Ocean City MD. I got home to a lawn full of mushrooms, but not quite as big as the ones in your pictures. So I've got dead grass, mushrooms, and big green weeds, looks kinda nice when mowed!

Yes, they are called "fairy circles" and if you watch them, they slowly expand year by year. I once heard that they begin where some wood or stump was left in the ground. I don't believe that as I have them where I -know- there was no such thing. It would be nice if they were edible. I have one toadstool now that is a foot across. Maybe I should mow the grass ya think?
