How does your garden grow?

Thanks Jstpssng
I have done a few small batches of compost in the gas grill for seed starting. Not very efficient. But effective.
Love the memories. Certain smells trigger memories for me all the time.

I had not heard of that before either. Too bad the beneficial worms get roasted too. Interesting.

I screen it first, hopefully getting all of them out. I do it mostly for the weeds, every year my onions, carrots, and garlic get inundated.

Very few worms if ya get the compost off from the top of the pile. Like I said only did small batches to start seeds in the spring. Made sure compost was moist but not dripping put it in long enough to get to steaming. Then turn it off to cool down. Works well.

1 - Anyone know what type of plant this is? Ended up getting rid of it yesterday.

Anyone have any meathods for keeping grass and weeds from growing other than pulling them out? I've used a big "blow torch" to burn out the grass around the fence line, but it's not perfect (pic is from today and I burnt the taller grass out yesterday). We've laid out tarps, but cardboard seems to work better (plastic tarps will only really last a year anyways).

The garden is grown on our grass lawn that was fenced in for a garden. Weed "management" almost seems 24/7 LOL

Treflan,,, it stops many seeds from sprouting,, it sure works on the annual grass and weeds you do not want,,

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Treflan&ref=nb_sb_noss

I used to apply it to 1,600 acres of soybeans back in the 1970's,,
you could see "to the inch" where I missed an application, if a nozzle clogged,, grass grew in that strip,,,

Appreciate the feedback, but after my wife went through breast cancer and her dealing with the medical profession as well as the FDA and the pharmaceutical companies, most likely a no go.
