Well the weather has changed over and I guess Spring has arrived here in the great North East. Grass is greening up and raked off the winter mess. Still have one snow pile left though' Chive is foot tall now and have been cutting that often.
Tilled the garden over once and then put a row of early sugar peas yesterday. Used one of those 16 ft cattle panels from TSC for the support trellis wired tied on three 6ft tall T- posts. Decided to make that investment in firm support structure because I had some poor experiences in the past with other setups between the wind and weight. And may eventually buy a couple more too. They so much better than screwing around with roll fencing
Also bought a new 50 pc bundle of 8 ft bamboo poles from AM Leonard. Got free shipping too which saved like $27 in UPS charges (never hurts to ask
) And those are for my Rattlesnake and Romano pole beans.
Really had to get them this year, I had a hundred of smaller 6 ft bamboo poles for many years probably 12 or more and they all needed replacing finally, but I didn't really take good care of them either. So went with taller ones too as the Rattlesnakes would always easily top over the 6 footers They can run up to 10 ft!
Anyhow they should be good for at least another decade.
All my seed packets have come in just waiting on the 500 gladiolus bulbs I purchased thru Harris now. They were shipped today from the supplier delivery is Thurs. Also got from 250 mixed seeds of 5 different cutting sunflowers from Harris too this year. They had several combination of mixes all at decent prices. I cant say enough good about Harris for the price and the amount seeds you get vs some other little packages.
