Picked about 10 gallons of snap beans and 5 gallons of squash, my back is killing me now. (bucket on the left is a 7g)

<snip_photo

That's a NICE looking crop, you will never find that fresh quality in a supermarket or even a farmer's market...

PS: have I mentioned that my shipping address is ### +++++ ********* road? :) :D

Dennis, those beans look good. Looking back on my pictures, I think mine must have sprouted about April 21st. I looked online to see when I could expect ripe beans. According to them, it's 50-55 days, so they should be ready between June 10th and 15th. But on the same website it said they won't put beans on if it gets hotter than 85F. Since it was 97F just an hour ago, my beans might be screwed.

We have been in the mid, to upper 80s and touching 90, have lots of beans still 2-3". I am keeping the ground very damp. My other 5 rows of different type beans are 8 days behind the contenders, but catching up fast!

Tim, you may want to keep the local florist on "speed dial" CYA ya know!!

Look what I brought home after last night's wedding. They had purple flowers, and guess who's favorite flowers are purple? I guess it's better to be lucky than good.

Bugs I'm having to deal with so far.

In the snap beans, I have a small group of Lycaenid Pod Borers, have been random probably because the Spinosad has worked so good, but I have killed around 15.

Used my torch today on the squash and zucs, killed 8 squash bugs and cooked around 2k eggs and probably 200 hatch-lings!. Bow they show up fast!!

Also torched (again) Harlequin stink bugs on the broccoli I have left as trap plants, killed maybe 30 adults, 500 nymphs and 200 eggs.

Last week we found we where severely infested with Corn borers moths in the corn tassels, Sprayed Spinosad before leaving out of town for work and on inspection, the damage has stopped. My corn should be pick-able in 15-20 days, as the silks are growing great. We got some Mineral oil today and infant droppers/syringes so when the silks start to brown, we can add a few drops to kill any corn borer worms in each husk.

I need to spray Spinosad again, but we finally have a good chance of rain over the next couple of days, so will get it done afterwards.

We also released some Trichogramma parasitic wasps and lacewing eggs, so hopefully they pitch in. Probably a bit late for the wasp, but they are cheap and may establish a residence.

I got all the unused parts of the garden tilled, and mowed inside the fence. Planted a few rows of the brown crowder pea seed I bought last week. Also planted Margie's flower seed. And as soon as the lightning eases up, I'm going back out to tie up the next round of Florida weave. Speaking of tomatoes, the cherry and beefsteak are full of little tomatoes. It won't be long now.

Tim, our tomatoes are about the same, I should get the 1st ones in a week or so. Saw allot of little melons, cucumbers. Picked the 1st 2 bell peppers today:thumbsup: I will end up having toget either a Mantis 4 stroke or honda mini tiller, the grass is growing faster than I have time to weed!

I almost though about planting a "2nd" set of corn, but heat will be bad here soon, I should be picking corn in less than 20 days. I hear there was still some snow in the N,NE last week? Has been a strange, eventfull Winter.

I transplanted a row of Roma tomatoes, and one of New Mexico Joe E. Parker peppers this morning. We had a cloudy day, so it was a good time to do it. I had wanted to get my bells done too, but ran out of time.
