Also bought Yellow Pear and Brandywine tomato seeds, as well as Waltham Broccoli seeds. 25th and 26th are good above ground days, so I will put some seeds in cups then.

I'm putting Raab broccoli, Pruden's Purple, Brandywine and Yellow Pear tomato seeds in soil today. Also picked up a 6 pack of heirloom Homestead tomatoes, and two jumbo Jalapeno plants that will go into gallon pots today.

I can just about see all of my garden today :D We had a good 2 ft of snow less than two weeks ago but temperatures have been up past +60F degrees for the past 4-5 days. Really odd weather but I'll take it.

First seed saver club meeting of the new year was held last week down at the library too!

I'll tag this on here the cheap rubber door weathers trip on my lil HF greenhouse didn't even make one season without part of it getting ripped. Not that big a deal but maybe someone knows of a local sourced option for a replacement material for an easy fix. Its usually difficult and time consuming to attempt get any parts thru Frieght C.S.

I bought some thick foam weather stripping from Home Depot soon after I built it for a nicer seal. Added a strip to each door.

Way to go hghvolt, hope it all is productive for you. Our spring rains over the years have played havoc with the seed I put directly into the garden, either packing the soil or just leaving the area too wet for germination. A few years back one of my grandsons wanted to plant some corn in a 1020 flat in the greenhouse. Always wanting them to explore things in the greenhouse, I said "Go Ahead". We also did some rattlesnake green beans. Both flats took off with great germination. I transplanted corn and beans to the garden in early spring and BOOM they did great. That taught me a lesson and became the way I start my early garden.

So, in my greenhouse now I have beans ready for the garden and corn almost. I would have planted the beans today but we are due some severe weather tomorrow so I will wait.

Some Northern growers transplant corn just to get a jump on germination being that the ground can be too cold and wet in the Spring around here and the season being so short.

We actually sell corn started in 6pk flats at the greenhouse too I thought it crazy but the customer...home gardeners demand it. Beans too wtf!

I just had a salad with lettuce, henbit, chickweed, mustard and crackers with some low salt salad dressing. Lettuce and mustard had grown through the winter. Henbit and chickweed grew up this early spring in February.

Sowed some carrot, mustard and lettuce seed for this spring. Saw the lettuce is already coming up. Have some carrots that grew through the winter, too.

Can't put stuff like toms, etc. out yet. Our last frost averages about Mother's Day.

YES, these Rattlesnake beans were started in the greenhouse and transplanted three days ago. Made it thru a wind storm and 1.5 inches of rain last night.
