How Does Your Dog Score?

Don't have the detailed design handy (funny how you lose things in the short span of 20 years or so), but here's a rough sketch of the sideview of what I made. Surprisingly quick and easy to construct if you have the right wood scraps laying around.

The plexiglass windows I put on either side were an afterthought that I added later so's I could see how their food level was doing from the comfort of my dining room table. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

The front of the "box" is open at the bottom, letting the feed flow into the "dish" part. When I switched from small grain to a much coarser food, I had to add a curved piece of plexiglass inside to allow it to flow more easily out the chute. Plexiglass is what I had at the time. Sheet metal would work fine, too.

This worked fine for the life of my dogs, but I'm betting there are better designs available at your local pet/feed store.

Excerise is the key, dogs love to run. Sparky is 15 years old and eats twice a day a mix of dry and canned and drinks plenty of water. I take him out with me daily and he explores all 8 acres, granted not as fast as he used to, but with no less gusto.....still tries to catch the rabbits, squirrels, deer and an occasional snake but always comes up short. Have tried to attach a picture of the "Old Men" hope it works.

Thanks Harv for the diagram, yeah you're right about the short term memory loss over a mere 20 years I suffer from the same problem, ah well must be getting old or something. Either that or be suffering from hereditary insanity,you get it from your kids, or so an old mate tells me. Kerry.
