How does the parking brake work?

I only use the parking brake when I need to be positively stopped on a slope. It's easy to know that the p-brake needs to be released because the tractor won't move otherwise.

I learned with my first tractor. I DO NOT use the parking brake on the M6040. Rotate and plant the grapple - drop the rear blade. It's not going to move now.
Basically what I do as well. Even without any attachment in the SSQA, if I rotate it completely down and set it on the ground it plants the tractors nicely.

I always use the parking brake if the tractor has one or the park position in the transmission.
Some of the older tractors with the mechanical lock on the service brakes would take some work to
reestablish the notches and catches of the parking brake setup after many years of use.
Depending on what implement I have on decides how much I am going to lower it.
I will often use the bucket as a secondary parking brake on steep hills.

But Oosik, you live on fairly flat ground! Bring your tractor over to my place and I bet you would use the parking brake a lot more.
