How do you step into your tow rig?

Must be a bad feeling when a GM owner knows more about your Ford than you do. :D

Just let me know if you need any other info on your Ford. ;):D

I get back to ya.:D I got all corn - fused. I have been looking at another 99 to replace the one we lost 2 months back. I was re-educating myself on them. I had not really be around the 99 that much since I gave it up back in 05 when I bought my D-max then my 06 F-350. It lived at the marina as a service vehicle. Here is a link to the one I am looking at. I want a plow truck but they scare me. This one has only had the plow on it since last year but you never know how hard it was worked. The guy who drives it wants another 7.3

They went from a 245 to a 265. .
Of course you're correct about the change from 245 to 265, I get all those numbers mixed up at times, especially since they're so close to my ex-wife's weight. For her last birthday before the separation I aksed her what kind of present she'd like. She said "Get me something that can go from 0 to 160 in under 8 seconds." I said, "How about a scale?", and then the fight started.
A nice thing about 265's is they're cheap to replace compared to the 17,18 or 20 inch rim tires.
You're not lying about those prices either, it's one reason I try to stay away from "exotic" tire/wheel sizes.

I have to say, I have been impressed with the traction of the '04 F350 V10, with the stock BFG A/T's. I will say I was even surprised when it was able to pull our boats out of the river, up the ramp covered with 6" of mud with no slipping.

More on topic, "How do I get in my tow rig?".....The answer for me is...very carefully. It's got the camper package and the snowplow package, which sets it up about as high as you can get from the factory. No steps...

Fortunately for me, I'm still young and spry (cough, cough)....

You know, I should have learned from her birthday the year before, when we were still getting along. She said "Don't buy me anything from the mall, I want to go on a nice trip." I said "OK, where would you like to go?" Her reply "Oh I don't know, as long as it's a place I haven't been in a while." So I said "How about the kitchen?" And that's when the fighting started.:p

Chevy's trucks arent worth spit to work with in my opinion , great runnin gear , but bottom plows everything with that ridiculous ground clerance killer transmission bracket . Frame is so flexy on the tail its a joke. The 10pcs rear bumper is only good for holding back wind .

Uh-huh.

I bet my transmission bracket has similar GC to your front differential, so what's the difference?

I don't have any trouble using mine for work, but what would I know, having run a construction company for 20 years.

Crest any thing and you'll be hung up with those tiny 265 s .. You have no available payload left either . We never see any GM up here working , its very rare to see them . 20 years doing what , additions .... lmao ? We log for real and do big box concrete non stop . Hang a plow of that GM and see how it does after a season ....... Its a toy and you know it duke .

Smash a $1,200 Dana 60 on a Ford into a rock or a GM $120 transmission bracket into a rock, you make the choice. lol

I'd prefer a bent bracket over gears & oil on the ground.

Anytime you want to chain em up, as long as it's stock and auto like mine , I know I'll take ya for a ride in reverse. ;)

I do like Fords better for plowing because the front axle is rated heavier, but I spent thousands on cheap junk Ford ball joints, cheap ford plastic locking hubs and 4R100 car transmissions as a result of plowing, too.
