How do you organize your towing accessories?

I leave steel balls and chains in the bed with no problem. I try to fit everything I can in the toolbox. The tool box isn't very secure, but it reduces the theft of opportunity.

I keep a pipe, a protective cloth, a can of oil, coolant, and a chaos of ratchet straps in the boot. Dont see, dont care.

Planning to put some Nutserts in my aluminum trailer deck. Should I use aluminum, steel, or stainless inserts?

I’ll keep a round head bolt in thrm when not in use to minimize corrosion.

To avoid galvanic corrosion I use aluminum in aluminum. Stainless will cause a reaction in aluminum and regular steel in aluminum will cause a reaction in both.
You can then use good quality galvanised bolts/screws in the aluminum nutserts as the galvanisation coats the steel and provides some isolation between the two. I'd also help it out with some anti-seize.
Good luck. 😊

I have a '93 Suburban that has a nice, large storage compartment in the right rear. I keep a triple ball hitch in there, a couple recovery straps, a ring hitch, various tie-downs, a 12v lamp with 20' cord, a raincoat, some 20' 3/8" chains, a magnetic tail-light kit with 25' of trailer wire, a bag of ear plugs, a 50' rope throw bag for water rescue, a few others things and sometimes a 5' fishing rod. :D

On my car hauler trailer, I mounted a pickup-bed resin toolbox on the a-frame that opens wing doors from the sides. I keep chains, tie downs, load binders, an ax, a shovel, a 5' crowbar, a machete, various pins and clips, some spray lube, some hand tools, a bundle of wire marker flags, a roll of paper towels, a grease gun, and some other stuff.

I keep what I need in the toolbox of the truck or the one mounted on the tongue of the gooseneck. Couple years ago I had my friend at powdercoat paint all mine so they would stick out if someone wanted to “borrow” one.

Did the powder coating interfere with any clearances? We had that done on some equipment at my old employer, and many pieces then wouldn't fit inside other pieces.

Haven't ran into any issues on this stuff, I know on some other things I've had done I either had to sand a little off/out to make things fit but most of it I can accommodate for ahead of time.
