Hope not, just bought an LG Front load washer to replace a Samsung. LG washer is supposed to be most reliable.
The absolute most reliable are the USA made Speed Queen washers. They are typically made for commercial laundromats. But they also make residential models. They aren’t sold in box stores, only independent appliance stores.

Have all 3 brands you mention in house now. Frigidaire upright freezer from 1982, never been repaired, ( was owned by General Motors at that time). just replaced Whirlpool range that was 36 years old with another whirlpool. GE/ Hotpoint fridge from 1991 still going. Doubt that any of the newer appliances you buy now will last like the ones I named that 30-40 years old and still going

Have had very good service with Bosch dishwashers. Just replaced the one we had that was 19 years old with another Bosch

I’ve had good luck with all of them… but todays appliances are not your mothers appliances.

I agree with you 100% about the longevity of older appliances being far superior.

Oh, but his one has no preheat air fry capabilities! :ROFLMAO: And 6 other oven settings!

Amen to that! The GE top-freezer refrigerator installed in my house 34 years ago is still working great. And the Sears "Coldspot" chest freezer sitting in my basement was made in 1952, 72 years ago, and has never needed repair.

Recently I was reading an article that claimed that the "mechanical" parts of today's appliances still last pretty good...its all the electronic sensors and controls that go bad. So the recommendation was to buy a basic unit with mechanical controls if you want a long-lasting, trouble-free unit.

Absolutely
When the CPU board goes out in just about anything, that's it - and those often last ~5 years
though
Had a repairman claim the board was bad in our wall oven, and I forget what I did, but it's still going now after 23 years (Kitchenaid).
I did have to pull the oven apart and weld the top of the oven chamber back together because the top part of it was dropping it. Not a good design, steam from the oven had rusted little tabs that were holding it together.

OK, to be honest, I didn't read both pages...
Frigidaire is parent company of LG. 3 years ago, I bought 2 refrigerators, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer. All LG. After 3 years, the fridge stopped working. Since there are no authorized dealers remotely close to us, LG offered a full refund. Great, right? it was June 25th when my nightmare started. Long story short, LG is doing everything they can to NOT refund my money. Wife did search online, you can do your own, and LG has class action lawsuit against them for using linear compressors, that fail at a high rate.
UGH!!!
Stay away from LG refrigerators...

Frigidaire is a U.S. company. Are you saying they own the Korean company LG?

Sorry, I got misinformation. Everything else I wrote is my experience. Google will verify the linear compressor issues.

My bad...
