2013 3038e manual says turn the ring above the glass bowl counter clockwise; I'm assuming this means to the left if looking down on it. Can't seem to budge it even with a strap wrench. Tried to use a pipe wrench but I chickened out. I'm pretty strong so I don't want to break it.

Mine is the standard "Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty" thread...

...and I'm back from the shed. There's a black plastic top-sealing 'ring' that you may have to twist in the opposite direction. So (facing it from the side) I grab the bowl with my left hand & twist it to the left whilst twisting the top ring to the right with my right hand.

Mine's only 'snugged up' tight... yours may take a wee bit of effort now that you've been at it with a strap wrench.
