How do I make these?

The advantage of Firewire is that it is much faster than USB, something that is really important when transferring as much data that can come from a video tape.

If you already have a video camera that has video out to go to your TV or VCR, you can buy a video capture card for your PC for under $100.00. They usually come with video editing software that will allow you to not only capture movies on your computer, but make still shots from the video as well.

I have one and it works great.

I have an Olympus camera and use a $20 card reader. Takes seconds to download a 32 MB smartmedia card. Around 40 images. To each his own. All work...some better than others. I guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

MossRoad and I are referring to a PC card to handle digital video cameras not digital still cameras. A USB reader is fine for handling just digital still images.

I just found a review of the camera I was looking at on the web. I does indeed have the firewire option so now I guess I just have to decide if that's what I want to get for the wife for X-mas. Sure would be nice to record my T-bird disassembly rather than using a still camera. Thanks for the input.

Take movies and stills of your project. You won't be disappointed.
