How do I get this cylinder apart

I have searched every image I can find not found a cylinder head like this one. It had six 5/16 bolts with 1/4" allen heads I removed them and have tap around on it not sure if it slides or turns hope someone on here knows how it comes apart. The cylinder came off a boom truck Its going to be on a log splitter 5.5 bore 2.5 rod 28 stroke

Try unscrewing it. Or you could take it to a hydraulic shop and let them open it up for you.

Not letting me zoom in, but I am guessing those bolts only secure the rod packing. They are too close to the rod. Meaning whatever they thread into is still going to be too small to remove the 5.5" piston.

The whole cap likely unthreads. Does it look like the plate you just unbolted is a separate piece from the cap?

My swag is that the cap you see is attached to a hidden cap that has a shoulder which is locked into the cylinder by a snapring.

Sequence I think would be pop the two hex allens. Pop the cap you see, ensure that the port at the far end of the cylinder is open. Look down into the cylinder for a snap ring. Depress the inner cap and remove the snap ring. Pull the whole shebang out.

You and LD1 nailed it after cleaning off the old paint and soaking it with PB blaster got it spinning with a punch and hammer turned it upside down banged it on the floor 30 times it came right out. I has a big snap ring in there I am going to get some bigger pliers mine are not big enough. I will show some pics when I get it apart.

Very common on bucket trucks and heavy equip.......can't tell for sure but looks like a wide base T seal
