Mahindra 4025
I have looked for over an hour (on this forum as well as online too)for the answer to this question and cannot find it.
I bought a used 4025 that had a small hydraulic leak on one of the FEL lines. I had the line repaired at a hydro shop and it's now on the tractor. It is no longer leaking but I have no idea how much fluid was lost before I bought the tractor. I watched some videos about replacing the hydro filter but they never showed how/where they checked the levels or added fluid.

I know it's probably a really stupid question.

It's my first tractor so I know nothing...

Not totally familiar with your tractor, but the filling port for mine is on top of the reservoir by the 3 pt hitch. Cap is only 1½" diameter (at least on mine) The site glass is near the PTO spline (mine is on the right) coming from the reservoir.

I made a home made dipstick (Mahindra didn't provide one...dumb) to check the fluid level.

The good news is that with that small of a leak, unless it's been going on for months, you probably didn't lose enough hyd oil to make a difference. But definitely should check it. See your owners manual for the location of the site glass.

on a 4025 it's on top of the transmission, just look down while sitting on your seat. remove it with a wrench, and there is a dipstick attached to the plug you just removed. You don't screw it back in to get a reading. Mine is a manual transmission.

Perfect. Thank you. I didn't get an owners manual when I bought it so was at a loss.

Unfortunately I didn't receive an owners manual when I bought it. Looks like this forum may be a lifesaver for me.

Bad Boy has most of their manuals online to download as a PDF. I just purchased a brand new 4025 and I still downloaded the manuals just in case something happens to my hardcopies.
