Be very afraid! But those are vague generalities. Boo!

You didn't list what's happening in DC etc, right now. There's the dangerous thing of this moment.
What’s happening in DC that has you quaking in your boots?

Or work. The idea is becoming that some job sectors will see 30-40% unemployment in 5 years or less. This could cause a major shift in the trajectory of humanity. I don't think a lot of people realize how unnecessary they are about to become
THIS, RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Art and beauty.

Nothing a machine is or does can be felt to be such.

Art? AI is destroying graphic design, and writing. Many authors already admit that they won't be able to write as good as AI. Graphic designers are completely unnecessary. Hell, one of the most followed bands on Spotify a few months ago, was completely AI generated.

Again, people are about to realize how insignificant they are to this world. Not to their Creator. But to this world for sure.

There are now AI shopping apps being advertised to aid people to do their online shopping. I would rather do my own shopping without outside influence from who knows who.

We've already lost the writing battle. So many people can't or don't bother to use the correct words or spelling, or simply use the one-or-two letter abbreviation for an actual word. Those who cannot even properly use their own language have diminished thinking skills.

The term "You can't believe your own eyes" will have additional significance.

Without trust in the reality of what we perceive, our own reality will faulter
"Trusting in reality" was never real to me. I've always been a "Trust but verify" type guy.

My wife and I have been retired on good government pensions since 2011. Many days we struggle to find something we want to do, other than watch the $ slowly pile up in our bank accounts.
My main duty is to keep her happy. Based on advances in medicine and her family history of longevity (lot's of centenarians who were very spry and functional until the last year or two) I'm looking forward to maintaining my duties for another 30 years.
So who needs "work"? Putter in the garden, shoot a deer on the front lawn,
Yeah, gettin' by on gettin' by is my stock-in-trade
Livin' it day to day
Pickin' up the pieces wherever they fall
Just lettin' it roll, lettin' the high times carry the low
Just livin' my life, easy come, easy go

Might be handy for busy people? I mean as long as you’re picking out the brands & sizes, what “outside influence” is there?
I think having my grocery items picked, bagged, and dropped at my front door is fantastic. I get hours of free time back I can use to make more money, go the gym, or rest.
Now when it comes to veggies or fruits, I’d rather pick them myself at the farm stand.

Mr. Newberry pegged it...some days - no some weeks(!) I'm making up busy work to keep me active.

I know what happens when I am bored with no projects to engage on, and it's not a fun place to be!

But, I am thankful that we retired before the AI tsunami hits...

I suspect some new related support jobs will be created and so far, believe barbers, plumbers and electricians are safe, even folks like Mr. Haydude with outside work.

What I really worry about is how an ever-growing government will recover lost tax revenue from all the AI instances which will replace today's working man.

Those hands-on folks who end up still working may well see a hefty tax percentage increase...at the same time retired folks get hit with a reduction in SS.

Since there's not going to be as much input as outgo, the upkeep will be our downfall...
