How can I mow 11acres

I just bought 11 acres and all of it is lawn. Half is level, half is hillside. I came from a 2 acre lawn that I could cut w/ my JD LX188 (8" deck) in 1 1/2 hrs. If I don't get a larger machine, I'll be cutting all weekend.

I want to get a Kubota or JD. Any suggestions?

I cut about 7 or 8 acres with an 80" wide mower. It still takes me about 5 to 6 hours. I must manuever around over 100 Rainbird sprinkler heads. The mower is a Woods. A 84" finish mower is available that looks pretty nice. Check "woodsonline.com" for more info. My next tractor may very well be a Kubota L4610 HST. Rat...

i have 9 acres but some of that is woods, only cut about 3 acres and i have a kubota b2400 hst(great machine) i use a BEFCO 5 ' finish mower for cutting. verywell made. i have the rear discharge and like it very much. i beleive any of the major name brands would do u fine, befco, woods, brushog. also is mowing your main use of the machine? take into account all the u want to do with it, then go from there.

I'll be using whatever I get for mowing, plowing snow off the driveway and some light farm duties (post holes, moving manure, etc). Just picked up a B6200 w/ a 60" belly mower. Not alot of HP, but I think the price was good.

If all you need is a mowing machine you might consider a large ZTR (zero turning radius) machine. I have seen some of the brochures where they claim 7 acres an hour, although I don't see how its possible.

If you need a tractor, then I would go with something that will use at least a 7' finish mower - a Kubota 2710 minimum, probably a little bigger.

I'm with everyone else, my folks used to mow about 10 acres of yard and had 25 acres of pasture. They brush cut the pasture and had a John Deer zero ratius mower for the yard. That mower really made time. However, a tractor with a 5', 6', or 7' finishing mower will work well too. Guess you have to decide what you want the machine to do, just mow or mow and lots of other things. Guess I'm not with everyone else, I think a tractor with a finishing mower, if you are only going with one machine, is the more versatile choice. Best of all you can put a FEL on a tractor and it's worth it's weight in gold.

I use a Kubota B2710 with a 72" belly mower to cut 5ac. of lawn. Takes about 2 1/2 hours, and the yard looks like a golf course when done! Plus have the tractor for doing lots of other things as well.

We finish mow 10-11 acres every week,we use a BX2200/60" deck and a B2710/72" deck.This takes around 4-5 hours.I'm considering trading the B2710 for a L4310 to pull an 11 ft. Tri Deck Finish Mower.I think with the BX and the Tri Deck,we could cut our mowing time down to about 2-3 hours.
