How big of tractor?

How big of tractor do I need to maintain my 5 acres. It's mostly flat. We have horses and I would buy a backhoe to build a bridge across my small creek. I also need to mow the grass with it. I like the 3054 and the DK35. Are these big enough? Is the extra 5 hp worth it? I have been researching and like what I see with the Kioti. I also have a 1949 M Farmall we tinker with, but it is big and hard to manuever. Thanks for the help!!

Either one of these tractors will do want your planning,if your going to be mowing lawn I would not get Ag tires.

This question is asked probably as much as "What do you think...." questions. Based on what you intend to use it for, I'd say the common answer would be anything between 25 hp and 35 hp would suit you just fine. You'll also find, however, that the other frequent comment is to get the most hp that you can afford, because it always seems like people find more uses for their tractors after they get them, and you never hear anyone saying they wish they had less hp.

I am a big fan of bigger is better. How big is the biggest vehicle you need to pull from a ditch? This is what prompted me to buy a large tractor. I have a full size 1/2 ton pickup and a fairly large ditch. I didn't buy a Kioti, but if I'd known of them, I probably would have.

I also agree that generally bigger is better.
With only 5 acres the 30hp or the 35 hp would do just fine but you could also be allright with the 25hp.
All of these will handle 5' equipment without any problems but the DK would handle even 6' Boxblade or mower without a problem.
I vote to get the biggest you can afford and use on your place.
