How big of a Trailer will I need?

Dove tail or beaver tail is simply a angled back portion. Usually 2 to 4 feet. I personally do not like them. I had one but really prefer the all flat deck trailer I have now. They make them both ways so all of us can get what we want.

Mine slide in under the deck. They do not fold up like the ones pictured. I haul stuff all the time that hangs off the rear like long lumber so stand up ramps would not work for me.

my GN has the 5' self cleaning dove with ramps that lock straight up. I likeit.. I for sure am glad they make many types though.. I have a flat bed as well.. though smaller. each has it's own use..

Howdy,

I'm about to purchase either a Kioti DK50SE w/FEL, or a Bobcat CT450 w/FEL (basically the same exact tractor).

How big of a trailer do I need to haul it plus a bush-hog (for example).

Also, I suspect you ill tell me I need to upgrade my 2001 2wd F-150 supercab (I believe it will tow 8500lbs).

I want advice from you guys "living the life" and not from the dealer with $$$ in his eyes...

Unfortunately Money IS an object, so I am likely shopping around for used (spending all I gots on the Tractor).

If you are just pulling locally on occasion on relatively flat ground I'd buy an 18ft heavy duty utility trailer with brakes and call it a day.

If your truck squats too much you can add some shocks with overload springs
or maybe some air bags. If you don't have the trailer towing package you need to add a tranny cooler.

I grew up on a full time cattle farm and the primary tow vehicle for years was *gasp* a 1988 1/2 ton short cab GMC 4X4 with a 4.3L six banger............it pulled loads for years far beyond what your truck will ever face.
