Thanks for all the great info guys I was thinking before I would go with a 66" bucket but maybe I will just keep my 60" now doesn't really seem worth the extra money .
Do you know anyone with a bigger bucket you could try? Between my skid steers and tractors I have three different bucket sizes and all are skid steer style quick attach. I have tried them on different machines and the results are much like everyone describes. My smaller skid steer has a low profile 72" bucket and when I put the 84" big deep bucket on it is a lot more productive when working with relatively light materials. We are building a pond and have been ripping a lot of topsoil with a chisel plow and then scooping it up and selling it. Dug up and loaded and delivered 75 yards the other day. It loads this fairly easily with the 84" bucket but struggles digging hard ground with the 84". Generally speaking manufacturers supply the largest bucket that works in all situations.
