Tiller How big a Tiller for a B7800??

Ok found a used 72" tiller for a great deal... but I was thinking that a 60" tiller was probably the limit for my little 30 hp B7800....


As it's dirt cheap... should I get it and just go "SLLLLLOOOOOOOWWWWWW" or should I keep looking for a 60" tiller?

I haven't tried a tiller, yet, on my B7800, but a 72" box blade was way to big for me. Not only would it get stuck but I would easily loose traction. I would say no bigger then 60" but I am interested to hear how to works out for you.

You can always remove rows of tines starting from the outside on both sides.

Well... went to see it... WOW that's a big piece of equipment! 750lbs according to the owner... Yikers!

I decided to keep looking for a 60" or smaller.

I did stop by a dealer and looked, but new is kinda spendy. Maybe I can get a "Deal" on one???

I have a 60" Woods GT-60 on my B7800. I can break ground at full tine depth with a bit of grunting, but it makes it. I use it several times a year on my vegetable garden, compost piles, new grass areas, new planting beds and side jobs. I can imagine how bad my bad would be if I had to till that much with my Crapsman walk behind.

The KKII 60" tiller is about right for my B3030. Don't think I'd want to go any bigger than that.

If it was a smokin deal/dirt cheap as you said...I woulda bought it regardless..test it out yourself with your machine...if you like it fine, if not, wait till spring and sell it for what it would cost you to get into a 60" KKII...
