I think it is a data entry error. You can build custom watch lists and start your position at 0, instead of market rate to observe this behavior.

Since the stock split out of GE proper, I think there is some other factor involved which accounts for this unrealistic percentage increase.
Disregarding all that, the question was asked about stock recommendations. I'm thinking artificial intelligence, tech stocks and environmental tech would be good.
My 2 cents...take with a grain of salt.

Honestly, when i look at all those charts…..i fall asleep. Ill let my finance manager handle all of this. He has for 20 years. Every year i make money, dont invest any of my time into it. Were taking draws now, but that money isnt needed to live on.

Im happy to leave it alone. Hes multiplied all my money many, many, many times over.

Hes earned his fees.

I want to try that logic out on my wife.

"I'm sorry, honey. I sometimes forget that I'm so much smarter than you, and it causes me to have unrealistic expectations about your ability to understand that you're wrong, and I'm right. I'll try to be more understanding of your limitations in the future."

If this ends up being my final post, it didn't go well.
No!...eject, eject, eject!

That is information the smart person needs to understand so they adapt their approach, vocabulary, etc. Never share that info directly with others.

That said, I could see him being too forthright and walking into something like that...well, at least a few years ago. Fortunately, his fiancée is smart and she is an attorney. She puts him in his place. She's really good at convincing him her ideas are really his ideas.

My cousin's ranch easily is worth tens of millions in land, cattle and equipment alone. If you ever saw him, you'd think he was struggling to put fuel in his truck.

I worked in financial services most of my work life. People making tens of millions are not like the characters who do so in movies...not most of them anyway.

You CAN convert after retirement. You have to satisfy your RMD requirement first (if applicable) but can convert any amount in addition to that.
That is what I thought, thanks.

You all are very lucky. Someone who made “tens of millions of dollars” is on a tractor forum giving investment advice.
We all pound dirt. So we have more in common than one thinks.

I look at it as experience. Sharing.

A guy runs by our house every day on his lunch break. He waves at everybody outside that he sees. I didn't realize until my daughter was put in charge of his business and personal insurance policies that he runs a billion dollar business. You wouldn't know it from his home or the vehicles he and his wife drive.

I have a good job, but it doesn't pay the bills needed to own a 50,000+ acre ranch or all the other stuff I have.

Hell I just got my road grader serviced and that alone was 28K. But it's needed if I want to get out at times...

Trust me. It takes millions just to keep things afloat. I worry about my kid and how he will keep the ranch when I'm pushing daisies.

We all have our cross to bear. The poor guy might have to squeak by on whatever countless millions you leave behind. ;)

I would be more concerned that he develops the mindset to be able to deal with that amount of wealth in a constructive manner and not go off the deep end.

That is quite a ranch! I had an emotional struggle to just let go of my dad's 40-acre farm. It was too far away for me to enjoy and maintain it. You have quite a family legacy.
