Kioti CK30
OK, so I bought a Kioti CK30 with a FEL, box blade and brush hog. On the property is an RV barn that is far from being adequate to house this baby. It's got a dirt/sand floor, multiple ingress and egress places for critters AND the previous owners had a "custom" welded 2 door deal that has about an 18" opening at the bottom and is angled at 30 some degrees to accommodate their RV. Basically a critter habitat and storage for junk I don't care about. It's oil pipe framed and block walled, sheet steel siding, but basically, useless unless you want to raise rabbits. :)

SO, thinking I want to buy a Hawk type or other "portable" structure to insure the tractor is weather and rodent protected. I have a 2 car attached garage that I cleared enough space to temporarily protect my investment but the incessant whining of the little woman about, she can't get to the "this and that" makes my life.....difficult.

Any suggestions? I'm not into building, I prefer a prefab/portable/big enough to house the tractor and attachments. Car port doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies due to high winds in West Texas and they aren't the sturdiest of frames to protect $20K worth of equipment.

Any help/direction, appreciated

Regards,

Jeff

Those metal buildings are nice... but it is the concrete floor that really jacks up the price. Stick built or metal either one.

My wife doesn't go in our garage, so I get to keep the tractor there without complaint. ;)

edited: just went and looked at Hawk's offerings. None of those look big enough for a tractor, nor do the floors look strong enough. A CK30 is a big machine. A small tractor, but big when it comes to finding storage for it.

What about putting a carport of other structure inside the rv barn? Then you wouldn't have to worry about the high winds while having the security of the better built smaller structure

The issue is that the RV barn needs literally thousands of dollars to seal her up. The front doors will have to be cut down and fit to resemble "normal left and right side doors" then those doors need to be extended down to the ground, or concrete if it ever gets that far. Then the block walls need work. These doors are probably at least 7 feet wide, each and are welded rod and angle iron. One of these years it'll come to tearing it down or bearing the expense to make it right and so far that's a crap shoot either way. We're in the middle of cotton country and have critters galore, rabbits, rodents, snakes and coyote. The 2 biggest pest issues are rodents and rabbits, which as you know love wiring and ripping apart cushions (like a seat for instance) to make a habitat. I can't poison due to owning dogs and cats. I'm a helluva good shot though ;)
