Nothing new except I have been as busy as ever with all the new equipment, HR and Network going in for the Go Live date...

Everyone is busy getting their physicals and signing on for benefits.

Mentioned to the HR team and the new site Admin that I had not yet received my revised offer as promised... there was a moment of silence and then I was told they are still working on it... it was suppose to be overnighted 2 weeks ago/

I may have asked too many questions or they really are still working on it.

Got me to thinking I better empty my enclosed car trailer... I've got a lot of personal equipment here from roll away chests, equipment lift, racks, shelving etc to move out just in case

Did you formulate a Plan B? Resume in order? Feelers out?

Best of luck, but I am sure it will turn out good for you. You seem to be on top of it!

After several false starts going back to 2009 the juggernaut is rolling full speed ahead.

I do have a lot of my projects/hoobies that have been put off for years plus Mom needs more looking after... resume is ready but plan B may be just to start a new phase in life.

For me it is consoling to have reach the point to know that I will be all right either way... years of being financially conservative and reducing debt have put me in a good position and if I need to pay for my own insurance again so be it and if this home turns out to be my forever home I can still count my blessings and live vicariously through my TBN friends new barns builds... ;-)

It's only been the last few years with the rent property mortgages retired that have made it so... at least I'm back to getting a good nights sleep which was not the case during the holidays.

Family was about evenly divided... some were anxiously waiting to throw me a retirement party and others were quite concerned that I was too young to retire in this uncertain world.

Good for you, you sound at peace with yourself. What more could a person ask for?

:)

A little update...

March 1 it is official... my company numbering 200 employees will be folded into a company of 55,000 employees.

It's been crazy at times the mistakes and false starts but it's safe to say it is a done deal.

One reason I decided to stick it out is I heard the HR manager of the new company say it is not unusual to loose people in the transition because they can't pass a drug test, physical or background check...

If I do leave I just want to make sure that no one thinks it was because of any of the above.... I guess I still have things that push my buttons.

Anyway... got my new official dog-tag ID today needed for everything... HR explained that my job will bear little resemblance to what I have been doing... I mentioned this to my boss who said where did I get that idea and I said HR today.

Boss said I still work for her and my job will be exactly the same as before except in Title and having to punch in and out for meals, etc...

Interesting times for sure.

Drug tests, that hit my group not that long ago. Still a bit surprised by the loss of people and we were warned months ahead of time because it happened in other groups beforehand. I hope all goes well for you with the transition.

I have to punch in-out now VS salary for the 27 years before that. I pretty much had the keys to the store, as they say, for everything. Literally, a big old ring of keys, plus the admin rights to all computer systems, for 27 years. I was trusted. Corporate took over, revoked my admin rights, then started assigning me tickets on the help desk that I could not resolve without admin rights. 3-4 years of that was enough. I transferred to maintenance.... but I still have the keyring!

I now look at it this way.... they paid me to do a job and I did it well. Now they pay me to do a different job, and I do that well. They don't owe me anything but a paycheck and I don't owe them anything but a fair day's work. I was fortunate to work for them when it was like family. I still am friends with the originals. But the generation that took over kinda sucks as humans.

How to describe the transition team... I guess I would call them believers... super positive 20 and 30 year olds here to rally the rank and file...

We have had about 10% leave... thing is they all left for other Hospital Jobs with much better benefits/pay... Kaiser is the king around here when it comes to RN compensation.... the vast majority of the workforce consists of RN and Techs... with support from Central... these positions are in high demand.

One of the RNs that is leaving tomorrow with 3 years experience and a 18 month baby was hired on with a $16 an hour bump in pay and lifetime medical after 20 years with Kaiser...

Moss... I do like how you said it... I am/was the person with keys to the kingdom... in virtually every phase... today was the first real change as they were doing training and I and the file clerks were excluded... quite a change for sure.

Anyone care to comment on Kronos?

Human capital management (HCM) for the entire employee life cycle | Kronos

Kronos is just an electronic time card system using either the phone or a card swipe system. Punch in with an employee ID and work type code such as 1 for regular, 60 for education, 63 for orientation, etc. You can punch out for lunch and back in with a code or the system can auto deduct time for lunch. Punch in your code and a 9 to punch out. Forget to punch in or out and you don't get paid unless your manager fixes the error.

Yep. The hardest part for me was installing new systems to replace legacy systems, doing all the work to centralize everything, with full knowledge that it was being done to eliminate my and many other people's jobs. Anyhow, no regrets.... Ahh... heck. Who am I kidding? If I only had a time machine and some pamphlets on birth control that I could give to some peoples' parents.....
