Hourly vs Salary?

...I also feel a little awkward in that I'm not the problem child or difficult employee but asking questions has made extra work for others...

Don't feel awkward. As the company expands, they should have already had answers for these questions, or thank you profusely for pointing out discrepancies in their business practice.

I have 50 vehicles with about half with title and registration... almost all are now registered Non-Op in which I pay a fee to California for NOT using them on the Street...

The minimum tag is now circa $100 per year.

Oldest is a 1905 Oldsmobile... started out wanting one car from every decade.
Cool thought but ouch on the cost. A bit far but you could move them out here to NH and not pay anything, I would enjoy perusing your collection. :D You could also get antique tags without a title here but not sure why anyone would bother.

The "Car" culture of California isn't what it use to be...

Oregon is also more old car friendly... costs about 10% of what California charges...

For the amount of time you actually drive the vehicles you should consider getting an automobile dealers license and insurance so you have dealer plates. Then when you want to take one for a ride throw on a plate and go. A lot of guys with multiple cars do that here. Not feasible for me as I only have two classics.

On a Los Angeles feeeway I saw Manufacturer's plates on a flawless 50's Willys Wagon. I wonder how he accomplished that!

For years I did have access to Dealer Plates... that all ended about 10 years ago.

I was thinking of Occupational Plates... have not spent anytime looking into it but they the requirements are less as they are not retail sales.

Swap most of the cars for vintage/antique tractors. No license fees, and no upholstery to mildew in WA.
