I am hoping for some advice on how to fix a stuck hour meter. When I bought the tractor in 2013, the alternator went and somewhere during the process my hour meter stopped working at around 300 hours.
I am considering selling my CK20 to upgrade to an excavator for a project, but I am most likely going to keep it so I can use it for managing my goats. Either way I need to fix the hour meter. I spoke with a Kioti service guy and he said it could be a few things, but before I have it towed in to him to replace the cluster, I should try and troubleshoot it.
He said there should be a pink wire with a white tracer under the left foot where the black plastic box is mounted, and that the wire may be unplugged or broken. I can't find a single wire under that side, near that box.
He said that under the steering wheel or on the firewall there should be a black box that says "hours" on it. I can't find any such box.
He said it's most likely not the cluster because it happened around the time I changed the alternator.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help me fix this? Thanks a lot.
