Well, here we are a couple months later and the hour meter is still not working. I took the tractor to the dealer and they could not figure it out so they called kioti rep for RI i guess and they decided that it must be a bad dash board. So they ordered that, it had to come all the way from Korea, so that took a couple weeks. They installed that and i went and picked it up, thinking that it was fixed. Stupid me should have told them to run it for an hour so it would turn to two and i would know that it was fixed, but I did not. So any way I took it home assuming it was fixed and ran it for a few hours and it still says one. So another call to the dealer today, and they called kioti again and say that it is something to to with the pre heat circuit. I hope that this is it because this would explain the real hard starts in the cold. So we will see.
Other than that when people say that they have had theirs for years and they still in press there owners they are not kidding. This a wonderful heavily built machine. Other than my hour meter and one or two minor things, I do like this tractor a lot.

update
Well it looks as though this issue has finally been taken care of. I dropped the tractor off for the fourth time yesterday for them to fix it. They called about mid day and said that it was all set, and it seems to be. I guess it was something to do with the glow plug relay switch. Very happy to have this small, but important issue out of the way.

That's good to hear. A dealer that stands behind you and their product is worth his wieght in gold. It's a shame it took four trips the get that one figured out but electronic gremlins can be the worst to deal with in any product, tractor, motorcycle, car/truck or whatever........... The margin for quality control error in modern electronics is much more minute than the mechanicals. Of course "S" happens....................................

So I find myself wondering if your cold starting problem was resolved by the fix?

Yes, it seems as though it starts much better now. I had it out this weekend useing the backhoe, and the more I use the tractor the more it impresses me. This really is a great tractor.

Nate,

By any chance can you get the part number? My hour meter quit working just after the warranty expired. I added an electric based one and I am happy with it.

Thanks

Kurt
