We've got a Hotsy steam genny at work.. It worked fine last year and we put it up for the winter.. seals in the pump were getting weak, so our mechanic put a seal kit in the pump.. makes lotsa pressure now.. only the burner element won't come on now. This unit is a mid 80's model. Uses diesel with a blower fan to heat a coil of pipes on the exhaust side. The pump side is like any other pressure washer.
Last year we also replaced a thermostat module up on the top of the heater coil tank. I've been 'assigned' to help fix this, as it has 'wires' on it.. and our shop mechanic is just about useless with anything that uses wires ( electric )...
Anyone work on these before? At the bottom of the burner unit where the power come sin, there is a large housing that swings out that has a good bit of wireing, and two large contacts that are spring loaded. No schematic of course.. and nothing is labeled.. all components are obscured or potted making matters worse.
Help and or guesses are appreciated.
