good morning everyone, can someone in the states please send some of that ice and snow over here to Melbourne Australia ???, i see this morning on the news you are having ice storms. on the other side we are having a bad heat wave, 5 days in a row over 104 F, and today will reach 113 F, it is only 4 am here and its already 95 F. we are expecting some really bad fire here today so someone please send rain and ice.

well i am ex captain from our local fire brigade ( CFA ) and i have invested a lot of money in water sprinklers hoses and water tanks we only have about 25000 lts of water as we are in a 12 year drought at the moment, but my wife , kids and mother will need to look after things here as i will be on a fire truck somewhere. we have about 15 ac to look after about 1/4 scrub / bush and we back onto a forest . fingers crossed

Here ya go, XCAT-- about -10C now (14F), sun's about to show itself.... supposed to go down to -26C (-10F) tonight and not get much warmer than it is now during the day today. Yeah, I count the days til summer!

(That's daughter's car out there freezing to death!) Hope you can avoid fires!

thanks people, it been very very hot 3 days at 45 degs c with over night temps not dropping below 33 deg c. nearest fires were 5 km away that i attended - man it was hot at the head of the fire front and that one was only 40 hec in size, other fires 150 km away have taken out 6500 hec- 30 houses-50 sheds so far and still counting, still no rain in sight with temps around 35 deg c all week . thanks for the photos - but i dont know how you folk live in that cold

well we are still here. on saturday hundreds of fires started , the temp got to 117 deg f, the hotest day in Melbourne ever (victoria), wind was 100 kph +++. we had fires all around us . he is a quick cut and paste from a web site- the fires are still burning and stil
