Can anyone confirm what the engine horsepower is on a 4720? There seems to be some confusion if it is a 58 or 66 HP engine :confused2: My owners manuel says it's a 58 HP, the John Deere web site says it's a 66 HP, Tractor Data.com says starting in 2009, the 4720 went from 58 HP to 66 HP at serial no. 650001. The local JD dealer says they never heard of a HP increase for the 2009 model year. Other independent dealers tell me the same thing as the JD dealer. My model is a 2009 with serial no. greater than 650001. Short of putting it on a dyno, can anyone tell me with any certainty what the HP is on my unit?

I thought Nebraska test was performed every year, no? If so, then your model year would be dyno'd.

Good idea; I went to the Nebraska tractor test site and confirmed what TractorData.com claimed about the increased HP for the 2009 model year. the only discrepancy is the serial no. break point. Nebraska tractor test says that it is serial no. 670001 and above, TractorData.com says it is serial no. 650001 and above. Since mine is a confirmed 2009 model and my serial no. is 670084 I would tend to think that the Nebraska tractor test site is correct. Mystery solved!
