Bought a 6ft by 4ft horse stall mat at Orschelens (very heavy thing), cut it about the same width size as my existing metal cutting edge on my rear 6ft blade, removed metal edge, drilled holes, then used stainless steel 1/2 inch nuts, bolts, and washers to finish install.
First time I plowed snow with it lastnight was with 5 inches of snow. It was super quiet, no more scratching the road, or concrete (or worrying about gouching). It cut into the snow with no problems, I was pretty surprised. Never had to make two passes.
As you notice the edge, its barely worn, thats after 45 minutes of concrete plowing, and asphalt. Pretty strong stuff.
I figure with the edge, I could turn it around if one side gets worn, then cut another strip when its all gone. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
Pretty cool for $40, and $10 in nuts and bolts...
It does flex back if you run over an edge, hit ice.
But with 400lb blade it holds up rather nicely.
I've heard about the poly edges, couldn't find anyone locally. So I tried with 1inch pre hard-rubber edges, no luck either
Enjoy /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
