I have a Huntsman 951P welding hood with a broken head gear.

I have been shoping for a place that sells the Huntsman brand with no luck. I am wondering if they are interchangeable with another brand. Is the Huntsman worth the extra effort to find or is there a better brand I should be looking for?

I'm really hoping you give great advise because I just sent my credit card number to Welding Supply. Wait a minute, I just received an e-mail from them asking to increase the shipping charges from $9 to $14. What's up with that?

I went ahead and paid their shipping charges. The head gear came in last night and the first thing I noticed was all the plastic for the hinges. It turnes out there is a "new" style, an old style made before 1992 and then there is mine which is older than the old style. The only problen was a square shaft on the bolt that needed to fit through a round hole in the hood. The instructions showed me the part that I needed to buy to rivet a square hole onto the hood but I didn't want to fork out another 14 bucks for shipping. So with a wood chisel, I made the round hole square and it works great.

Ingenuity at work.
