Honda Rubicon and honda oil

We have two Trx-300 and a 450 rancher, all are 6-7 years old. I just use any brand name 10-40 oil. They get the same oil/filter change that everything else does. I've never had any problems with any of them, the 300's get ridden pretty hard by my kids and their friends.

I have a Honda Rubicon and was just talking about this with another Rubicon owner.
The oil on that unit is used for the transmision and engine so my advice is pay up for the oil that Honda designed for that use. Keep your air filter clean and you could go a little longer between oil changes.

from many years of atv riding and many different types of atvs and motor cycles i never used any honda or yamaha oil i always used castrol or some other brand and never had any problems the key to it is maintance if you change the oil regularly and keep the filters clean you will have you atv for a long time.
