I was leveling the goat pasture last year using the rototiller and thought a packer would come in handy.

The design is mine, but the work was done by a friend. The idea came from the wobble wheels behind a grader. Couldn't be happier with the result.

The tires are filled with sand and pipe axle is about 1" smaller than the center bore of the rims allowing for some play.

Clever build. How do you fill a tire with sand? How much do you think it weighs? Should be low maintenance and last a long time.

Worry about attaching a trailer to a 3pt hitch. Negative tongue weight or backing could suddenly raise the hitch and cause a balance problem. Some hitches lock on the lift arms or attach to drawbar to help prevent that.

Agree with Smokeydog, Very clever build - but - as he asked, How do you fill a tire with sand?? It sure looks as if it does its job quite well and with sand in the tires should be fairly heavy and pack well. Great idea.
